Professor Karl-Henrik Robèrt, MD, PhD, is the founder of The Natural Step, an international not-for-profit research, education and advisory organization. They help individuals, organizations and communities take meaningful steps toward sustainability. They act as a catalyst, bringing about systemic change by giving decision-makers a shared, science-based understanding of sustainability and the tools to make decisions in a sustainable way. The Natural Step Framework with the four system conditions that define sustainability has been used with great success by a variety of organizations, including Interface, Hydro Polymers, IKEA and Rohm and Haas, In soon 20 years of working with hundreds of companies, municipalities, academic institutions and not-for-profit organizations across all continents, The Natural Step has proven time and time again that sustainable decision-making leads to new opportunities, reduced costs, and dramatically reduced ecological and social impacts. |
