Sensitised for the future of PU products
A new type of restriction under Annex XVII of REACH has been proposed that will introduce mandatory conditions for the further use of polyurethanes instead of restricting the field of application of a chemical. This proposal is currently in its final stages before becoming EU law and is being discussed by the EU Commission and EU member states. FEICA has been directly involved in this development over the past five years. The presentation will briefly reiterate the scope and timeline of the proposal and focus on the current and planned activities of FEICA's Technical Working Group, with an emphasis on the implications for adhesives and sealants.
