Polyester Polyols Technical Manager
Georgina Testar has been the Polyester Polyols Technical Manager at Synthesia Technology Europe, a renowned innovative producer of polyester polyols and polyurethane systems, for 11 years. Over recent years, Synthesia has made great efforts to develop “green” polyester polyols, based on the increasing knowledge of the HMPUR market and the availability of new biomaterials. Georgina started her career in the technical department of Olive Química, a silicone sealants company.
Georgina has a Degree in Chemistry, which focused on organic chemistry, from URL (Universitat Ramon Llull), Spain, as well as Chemical Engineering, achieved at IQS (Institut Químic de Sarrià), Spain.
Bio-based polyester-polyols for HMPUR
The growing interest in reducing environmental changes, CO2 emissions, carbon footprint, etc., has forced the chemical industries to promote the development of new biological raw materials for various markets, and replace the current raw materials based on petrochemical sources.
In addition, within polymers, and specifically in different PU applications, there is a growing interest in the presence of these raw materials, not only because they are friendly to the environment, but also because they can generate special benefits by encouraging the development of bio-based polymers (materials obtained from renewable resources).
Starting from biological materials available in the market and the great versatility of polyurethane chemistry, Synthesia Technology has developed a new range of polyester-polyols (BIO-HOOPOL) that allow us to obtain improved properties when formulated to produce an HMPUR adhesive.
