Dr. Dirk Achten received a PhD in 1999 from RWTH Aachen in Germany in polymer science. In his career at Bayer and Covestro, he had various assignments with increasing managerial responsibilities in the rubber, adhesive and coatings R&D sector. In 2012 he was asked to lead a startup incubator at Covestro AG. Dirk is currently heading the R&D group of Modern Coatings and Adhesive Applications in the business unit “Coatings and Adhesives” at Covestro Deutschland AG. His group specializes in technologies and materials for automated and digital applications for the coatings and adhesive industry.
