Rainer Kalkofen completed his studies at the WWU Münster/Germany in 2006 with a PhD degree in organic chemistry. After a postdoc at Stanford university he joined the R&D department at ARLANXEO in2008. In 2016 he transferred to the technical service and application development department for polychloroprene and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers. Since 2020 he works as an application specialist with the focus on customer support for adhesives including ethylene – vinyl acetate elastomers, polychloroprene and butyl rubber.
