In the pursuit of sustainability, the focus has often been placed on carbon neutrality. However, true sustainability encompasses a broader spectrum of considerations. This presentation advocates for a holistic approach in the development and advancement of construction chemical products, acknowledging that environmental impacts extend beyond CO2 emissions. By examining various dimensions such as resource consumption, production methods, social responsibility, and end-of-life considerations, it becomes clear that a comprehensive framework is essential for effective evaluation and prioritization of sustainability initiatives.

Furthermore, this work highlights the interconnections of these dimensions and underscores the need to address them collectively to achieve genuine sustainability. Based on examples and theoretical insights, a multifaceted strategy is proposed, integrating ecological, social, and economic factors to make the development, manufacturing, and application of construction chemical products sustainable. By adopting such a holistic perspective, companies and stakeholders in the construction chemical sector can navigate the complexity of sustainability more adeptly and ultimately promote a more resilient and regenerative industry for future generations.
