After working for UNDP, the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna he joined the European Commission in 1998 and has been Head of Unit in the Directorates General “External relations”, “Development” and “Environment”.
Currently he is head of unit in the Directorate General “Environment” of the European Commission dealing with “Sustainable Production, Products and Consumption“. In this function he is entrusted with the coordination of the follow up to the new EU package on “Circular Economy” and the development and implementation of a number of EU policies and instruments in support of the transition to a circular economy.

Charles Dhanaraj is H.F. “Gerry” Lenfest Professor of Strategy at Fox School of Business, Temple University, USA and also Professor of Strategy at IMD Switzerland. In addition, he serves as the Executive Director of the Executive Doctorate Program, and Founding Director of Center for Translational Research in Business at Temple University. Charles’ research focuses on strategic partnerships, global innovation, and strategic leadership. He has published in several top journals and has received several awards for his research and teaching. In 2017, he was elected as a Fellow of Academy of International Business (AIB).
Charles worked with the Tata group of companies for several years in corporate strategy and operations management prior to his academic career. He has worked with several global organizations such as Eli Lilly, Sanofi, Cummins, Danske Bank, Agricultural Bank of China, Saudi Arabia American Bank (SAAB), Unicredit, Pernod Riccard, Maersk Drilling, Arla, Dekra, Valmet, Deloitte, Sika, and Hilti among others.
An engineer from IIT Madras (India), with Masters degrees in engineering and business, Charles earned his PhD in business from Ivey Business School, Canada.

Eva Grießbach holds an MSc in Chemistry from Freiburg University, Germany and a PhD in Agricultural Sciences from Gembloux Faculty, Belgium. In 1988 she joined Dow Corning, global manufacturer of silicones, and spent ~20 years in Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance. Since about 10 years she is working as Senior Product Steward and as such is responsible for the development and implementation of Product Stewardship programs in Dow Performance Silicones’ RTV Elastomer & Polymer business.

Dr Juergen Wegner’s expertise in global adhesives and coating technologies spanned 30+ years of experience in the chemical industry with special focus on adhesives, sealants, coatings, wood preservatives, and construction chemicals. He spent his entire professional career with HENKEL at its headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany, with most of that time devoted to R&D of adhesives, sealants and coatings, including Application Technology of these product categories. He also gathered deep insight in marketing and sales of adhesives, coatings and auxiliary products as head of a respective business unit with pan-European responsibility for a EUR 150 MM business. Through active work in the board or as president of several national and European organizations such as FEICA, IVK, IGI and Deutsche Bauchemie (German Construction Chemicals Association), Dr Wegner knows the European scene for adhesives, sealants and coatings very well, and is well known to the industry. His knowledge spans global business perspectives, strategic technology planning and general business management. Since retirement from HENKEL in 2003 as the Global Vice President of Adhesives Technology, Dr Wegner joined ChemQuest as one of its European consultants in Düsseldorf, Germany, and currently is Vice President, ChemQuest Europe. Dr Wegner holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from Munich Technical University. He spent a year as Post-doc at Clarkson University in NY State, and attended several management courses at INSEAD Business School in France.

Karsten Voss works in the Research and Development Team for the EIMEA region at H.B. Fuller. Based at its new Technical Centre of Excellence in Lüneburg, Germany, he is responsible for product development for hot melt adhesives for Hygiene applications. He joined H.B. Fuller in 2015 after completing a post-doctoral research project in the field of polymer science at the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand, and the University of Rostock, Germany, Karsten Voss has a Master of Science in Chemistry and a PhD from the University of Rostock.

Janek von Byern is scientific researcher at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institut für Experimentelle und Klinische Traumatologie (LBI), the leading Austrian institute in the sector of tissue regeneration. Dr. von Byern´s work focuses on biological adhesives and its future feasibility for medical and cosmetic applications. He studied biology at the University of Frankfurt/Main (Germany) and finalized his Ph.D. work at the University of Vienna in Austria about the gland morphology and glue composition in the cephalopod Idiosepius. Within the last 12 years, he collected glue-producing animals world-wide and investigated its adhesive components, mechanical properties and biocompatibility with national and international support.

Alessandro Visconti, born July 26th, 1965, Italian citizen, raised in Switzerland, living in Bottmingen nearby Basel, 3 children (boys) aged 11, 14 and 16.
Alessandro ended his studies with a commercial school degree and graduated in economics. His professional experience found its start in sales and marketing within a wholesale trading company of the paper industry. In 1996 he took over responsibility for development and marketing of one of the global leader of specialty coating papers for the luxury packaging industry before he decided to gain management experience for the launch of two new-economy start-ups within the medical technology field in late 2000.
In order to pursue his professional passion, in 2008 he joined the “resina” pine chemicals business of Petrofer AG (a family-owned company, internationally active in pine chemicals since 1960) as Head of the Pine Chemicals and Polymer Additives division, headquartered nearby Basel, Switzerland.
Petrofer AG has its own gum rosin distillation facility in Guangxi province as well as a sales and marketing subsidiary in Guangzhou, China. Exclusive co-operation and joint ventures with leading players from the main gum rosin producing territories is complementing the pine chemicals business activities. A few years ago Petrofer AG made another step of backward integration, acquiring and managing own forests in China. Currently Petrofer already owns approx. 1000 hectares of pine forests and the expansion continues to progress. Soon, Petrofer will harvest the first quantities of crude gum from its own controlled forests.
