Marco Schmidt studied polymer chemistry at Reutlingen University and graduated in 1996 with a degree in polymer chemistry. He joined BASF SE in 1996 as a specialist for GPC and HPLC in Central Research. In 1998, he moved to the marketing area for dispersions and was responsible for fiber bonding and new applications as Senior Technical Service Manager in Europe. Since 2017, he has been responsible for the Sealants and Construction Adhesives business unit at BASF SE. He is based in Ludwigshafen and serves European customers.

Environmental scientist, he is currently a researcher in the Advanced Technologies Department of the Footwear Technological Centre, INESCOP. He is also a member of the secretariat of the Spanish Association of Glues and Adhesives Manufacturers, ASEFCA. His current research is focused on the use of more sustainable adhesives, coatings, surface treatments and sustainability for footwear applications. Since 2016, he has been working in the environmental sector, specifically, in environmental and integrated water cycle management companies.

In 1996 Luc Peeters graduated as PhD in polymer chemistry at the University of Antwerp on electrically conductive polymers. The following 3 years he studied at the University of Antwerp the thermal stability of oil-water emulsions for the hot rolling of aluminum.

In 2000 he became scientific assistant in the Belgian Army and set up a synthesis lab to make fingerprinting material for determination of war and nerve gasses. 

From 2001 till 2007 he was Research Chemist at DuPont de Nemours responsible for the development of resins for automotive coatings.

In 2007 he became R&D manager at Kaneka Belgium where he is responsible for the development of sealants and adhesives based on MS PolymerTM.

Machteld Paree has experience in the adhesives industry for over 37 years in a wide range of applications.

She started her career in 1984 and had several positions in the technology space within Hercules and Eastman Chemical.

Currently she is working as a Senior Application Specialist for Synthomer adhesives, specifically in the field of tackifying resins and polyolefinic polymers. She is the technical expert and partner for a number of strategic and major accounts in Europe.

Dr. Dipl. Eng. Maxime OLIVE is an R&D Engineer with more than 17 years´ experience in the adhesive industry, especially formulation issues and debonding strategies. From 2010 to 2015 Maxime has worked as Team Manager of the Sustainable Chemistry Department in RESCOLL, with activities ranging from adhesive dismantling strategies to adhesive formulation (including substitutions of substances and REACH impact studies) or Life Cycle Assessment. In 2015 Maxime took a position as IP and Innovation Manager in RESCOLL with activities devoted to the development of RESCOLL’s home technologies in smart adhesives and coatings.

Nicole Neub successfully graduated as technical engineer (Diplom-Ingenieur) in 2004 from the University of Applied Sciences in Reutlingen. She then started her career at an automotive supplier in Germany. In 2007 she took over the responsibility for chemical processes such as adhesives and sealant production within a special purpose machinery manufacturer for continuous production methods. Followed by continuous production solutions for pharmaceutical and Li-Ion Battery customers she continued her career 2020 at BOSCH and is in charge of the realization of energy efficiency solutions.

By representing a group of experienced engineers, she is proud to be part of the BOSCH Net Zero Story and passionate in energy efficiency and the successful implementation.

Graduated in chemistry 2001, has been working in the pharmaceutical industry and for environmental laboratories. Joined Vinavil in 2006 as analysis and process technology specialist; from 2013 is the manager of the analytical dpt. Since 2021 follows the development of sustainability strategies within R&D.

PhD in Pure and Applied Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland. In 1986, he joined Dow Polyolefin Research working in the areas of Polyolefin Product and Process Research and in Application Development. In 1996 with the formation of the DuPont Dow Elastomer joint venture he moved to the DuPont Dow European Technology Centre where he focused on Application Development for the Ethylene Elastomers businesses. From 2005 he has been working as an Application Technology Leader for Hot Melt Adhesives with a global role since 2019.  He is currently based in Spain with Dow.

Stefano Romagnano holds a degree in chemistry and a master in organic chemistry from the University of Milan with focus on organic synthesis. He received his Master of Organic chemistry in 1995. He has worked in the chemical research and development for more about 30 years. He spent nearly 18 years with the Italian company Lamberti S.p.A, where he was responsible for the R&D of polymer additives such as photo initiators and polymer stabilizers. In 2017 he started working as R&D Manager for the Italian company Durante Adesivi and he is responsible for the development of new adhesives.

Marco Bernardini holds a master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Padua (Italy) and completed his Master Thesis in 2015 at BASF Performance Chemical Division. After a short experience within the heating technology industry, he joined Durante Adesivi in 2015 as Technical Sales. From 2020 he started a new position as Woodworking Product Manager at Durante Adesivi.
