After his chemistry studies, Dr. Derra became head of laboratory of the ISEGA Forschungs- und Untersuchungsgesellschaft mbH, Aschaffenburg. Since 1986, he has been president of this company. As an authorized state registered expert for the analyses of packaging materials and of soil and air, he attends to the field of certification of materials in contact with foodstuffs. Apart from the analysis and evaluation of foodstuffs packages, environmental effects like re-cycling and composting are main focal points of his work.

Within the new German National Accreditation Body DAkkS, he represents the German Chem-ical Society GDCh in the fields of chemistry and protection of consumer health.

Dr. Derra is chairman of the analytical DIN committees on paper as well as on plastics in food contact and, in this function he also represents the German standardization in the correspond-ing European CEN workgroups. Since 2015, he is Chairman of the CEN/TC 172 Pulp, Paper and Board.

Mikaela Decio graduated in pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of Milan, in Mapei R&D since 1999.

Since 2003 she’s involved in evaluation of Volatile Organic Compounds emissions and certifications of green products. She’s now Corporate Environmental Sustainability Manager, performing Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies and Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), monitoring international regulations and market needs for eco-labels and green programs such as LEED and BREEAM.

Expert in TC 189 WG7 “Sustainability issues for ceramic tiling systems”, she is member of the board in GBC Italia.

She is author of several papers in adhesives, sustainability, and VOC emissions fields.

Dr. Sudipto Das is the global R&D leader for reactive hot melt technology and global R&D business partner for the woodworking, panels, and composite markets at H.B. Fuller. He has extensive knowledge in the formulation of polyurethane adhesives, specifically reactive hot melt adhesives, for a wide variety of markets such as woodworking, durable assembly, electronics among other. He holds a PhD in polymer science & engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, U.S.

With 30 years of experience in the adhesives and packaging industry, Dietrich Crail assumed the role of senior vice president, Global Rigid Packaging, and president H.B. Fuller Europe in late 2019. Dietrich joined H.B. Fuller in 2016 serving as vice president, Asia Pacific, where he successfully led the region to strong business growth by focusing on customer innovation, extensive market knowledge and strategic thought leadership. Previously, he served in various senior roles of increasing responsibility at Henkel, National Starch & Chemical, and Avery Dennison. Dietrich earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University of California, Irvine.

Catherine Corfias-Zuccalli is a chemical engineer and has a PhD in materials science.

She’s been holding R & D responsibilities for 15 years in various Arkema activities, working on different applications such as plastic pressure pipes for gas and drinking water, coextruded plastic films for food packaging, hot melt adhesives and plastic films used in photovoltaic panels.

For the last seven years, she has been technical manager for EMEA at Coatex, also in charge of the development of rheological additives used in various water-borne systems from Paints & Coatings to Adhesives & Sealants.

Morgane Burgorgue discovered the world of bio-chemicals by joining the world leader in pine chemicals in 2012.

She graduated from a Bachelor in International Business Administration and a Master of Science in Marketing Management from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. With sustainable chemicals in mind, she started her career after her graduation, taking on marketing responsibilities within the adhesives business unit as well as product management role for specialty biobased products.

Today, Morgane is leading the packaging segment within the Kraton adhesives marketing team and she is driving various sustainability initiatives within the company.

Following high school graduation, Verena Brunner joined Siltronic AG pursuing a trainee programme focusing on business economics with languages. After successfully completing this internship Verena became a member of the overseas export department for engineering silicones at Wacker Chemie AG. During this period she was able to complete her bachelor in international management with special focus on marketing.

In 2016 she moved to the silicone sealant business unit within Wacker to take up a position as international marketing manager. Since the beginning of 2022 she joined the business team for silane modified polymers where she is looking to expand Wacker’s activities, again in an international marketing position.

Kevin Braun holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. After six and a half years working as a sales engineer and project manager at a Japanese Tier-1 automotive supplier, he is now sales manager at Molecular Plasma Group, primarily responsible for the business development in the DACH region.

Orlane Bouzard obtained a Chemical Engineering Degree majoring in materials at the ENSC Montpellier (France) and graduated from IAE Institute in Marketing & Product Management.

Orlane is now working as Technical & Development Manager for Crayvallac® Additives (Arkema) specializing in Adhesives & Sealants applications. She has global responsibility to market players in offering technical assistance, developing new solutions & supporting growth for these evolving applications.

Marco Balbo Block holds a PhD (doctor degree) in Chemistry. After 6 years experiences in polyurethane industry, he worked the last 10 years at tesa SE, being many years head of automotive application engineering, in-between lab manager for product development, and nowadays he is senior project leader in R&D with focus on sustainability and sustainable products at tesa Automotive.
