Biography

After graduating as a chemical engineer at the German University of Applied Sciences Münster, Thorsten Bauer worked for 10 years in the development and application engineering of sealants and adhesives. He joined TotalEnergies 15 years ago, where he worked on the development of solvents and plasticizers in the various adhesive and sealant systems. In 2015, he became Technical Product Manager for the TotalEnergies Fluids division in Germany. Since 2022, Thorsten is in charge of Hydrocarbon solvents and plasticizers for sealant and adhesive applications as Global Technical and Market Manager.

Presentation Abstract

How to improve the Product Carbon Footprint with Hydrocarbon solvents and plasticizers?

The Special Fluids division of TotalEnergies is a leader in the design, production and sale of high purity, biodegradable Hydrocarbon solvents and plasticizers. For more than 30 years, TotalEnergies Fluids provides a full range of highly dearomatized fluids like SOLANE range for adhesives or HYDROSEAL range for silicone sealants.

To be in line with our ambitions to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the Fluids division has developed a sustainable offer which ensures that our customers are using products that contribute to the reduction of their carbon footprint.

This presentation is addressed to manufacturers of adhesives and sealants and focuses on new ranges of Hydrocarbon solvents and plasticizers, which are 100% biobased, as well as on net carbon neutral solutions.

Based on this information, the audience will get solutions to reduce the carbon footprint in their formulations.
